Just got back from our wonderful trip. The hotels were fabulous--especially in Sausalito and Glen Ellen. I plan to revisit them. The restaurant selections were very good--especially enjoyed Poggio in Sausilito, Glen Ellen Star/Fig Cafe in Glen Ellen. Even though I walk quite a bit, the hikes were a good challenge. I took my mom along and we took about 7 hours on the first two days--we like to stop, look, and rest. It was great walking on paths I wouldn't have even known about--Marin County has a great trail system! Also loved walking through the Muir Woods. All the transfers, check-ins were seamless. I'll be looking into planning another one . . . |

For those who don't read long reviews, here is the short version: On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the best, Mary & Greg & Wine Country Trekking are a 10! Even before signing up I needed to request an addition -DONE. Then on the 3rd day I asked for another one - DONE. As a mostly city walking 75 year old I had lots of questions right up until my flight left from Vancouver, Canada.Every question/email was answered surprisingly quickly and always with patience and their incredible knowledge. I agree with all the positive comments about the treks, hotels and would also recommend following their suggestions regarding where to eat as all the ones I chose were really great. The San Francisco to Sausalito plus Mt. Tamalpais to the Wine Country was incredible! The maps, markers and directions were perfect. PS. I had a fantastic visit with Bruce Rector at his home winery discovering things about wine making that I had never heard. In addition, Mary & Greg were kind enough to stop by for a visit with me as well. Grand folks, great company with more "customer support" than I've ever experienced. A slam dunk by any measure. (One tip: using "Hiking" on my i Watch the mileage did not match but as soon as I changed it to "Outdoor Walking" they were perfectly synced). I plan to do a future trek with them and highly recommend them to anyone who is considering such an adventure. |

We had a wonderful time on our trek. The hotels were charming and varied, each with their own unique personality. Our first two hikes were unbeatable: Sausalito to Muir Beach on a stunning chaparral landscape overlooking the ocean; and the next day from Mt. Tamalpais to Mill Valley through gorgeous redwood forestland. Our third hike was from our Sonoma hotel to Bartholomew Winery and, while enjoyable to see parts of the town and surrounding neighborhoods, and hiking the Bartholomew Estate Park, the droughted landscape was crispy and sad. So the problem with that hike was weather-related and not under anyone's control. |

My wife and I had an outstanding experience with Wine Country Trekking. We have been on many first class trips and this ranks up there with one of the best we have done. Its hard to find a trip that my wife and I both enjoy especially for 5 straight days. Each day was unique and incredible. God blessed our trip tremendously and we are very thankful for WCT putting the detailed trip together for us. I have already strongly encouraged multiple friends of mine to book a trip.” |
