Mark and I both really enjoyed our trek in Kenwood! Since he was the trail guide this time (and not me!) I enjoyed the hikes even more this second time around!
The highlight was, again, the visit to [the family winery]. It really is a wonderful experience. Richard took us around the vineyard and since he's the winemaker, it was a different perspective than with Marjorie. I was glad that it turned out to be a different family member since it was my second time there. George spent a bit less time with us, but his grand entrance on his ATV was priceless! Mark really enjoyed it all as did I.
The Tasting Room following felt so corporate in contrast, but the food pairing was quite nice and the wines were definitely tasty. The folks were very personable and it was a nice end to the trek.
We had dinner at the Glen Ellen Star which was fantastic. The service was very good and the food was awesome. We took a cab there ($20 minimum) and an Uber home ($9). I'd recommend Uber!
We finished the Sugarloaf/Hood mtn hike by 1pm (as we didn't end up stopping for lunch) so the winery wasn't quite ready for us. But it worked out well regardless...It is so nice sitting on their patio. Also a great way to end the day!
The Inn was great again....the room, breakfast, and staff.
Nothing but a fantastic review of the weekend! Thank you and Mary/Greg!!!

We had a fantastic weekend!!
Save for one 'welcome', all the wineries were super on the customer service front. It was very nice to have such a lovely setting at the last winery to end our hike & weekend. I think we'd all agree that our time at the Family Winery was just really special. George and Marjorie were so gracious. We could have stayed there all day! Of course, their wines were delicious.
The mountain top tasting was top notch. We all want to take our husbands up there! Spectacular views and what a great way to start the weekend. Our ride on the flatbed truck was a treat too!
The Inn was fabulous. All the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were spacious and lovely. And our dinner there was terrific.
Aventine was a great choice for our Saturday night dinner. We had called ahead to let them know we had a birthday to celebrate and they did a nice job acknowledging the birthday. The food was great as was the service.
We all want to come back!!
Thank you so much for making the weekend wonderful for all of us.

We loved every part of this trek! The hiking the wineries and we loved the olive and vine last night. It was so incredible. We appreciate all of your suggestions and help in making our 40th a memorable experience. We have already told several people about you and plan to share you with others. Can't wait to do this again.
Thanks again for handling all of the details!

We really did enjoy our fall getaway. We both felt that the hiking and tasting experience struck a very good balance of activities. I guess you feel less guilty indulging in all those great wines and food when you've been out trekking all day! We enjoyed both hikes. Legs were a "good" sore after that Hood Mountain hike, but then again there was the reward of a wonderful charcuterie at the winery I think the highlight though was the visit to the family vineyard. Marjorie was so welcoming and was kind enough to spend, I think, almost two hours with us! The inn was perfect. Lots of Wine Country ambience and wonderful service. We thought the dinner the first night was a little pricey, but good. The second night we opted for The Fig Cafe and had a fun, more casual dinner there. Great choices in sandwiches too for our hikes.
We would enthusiastically recommend Wine Country Trekking to our trekking friends.

Everything was great. The trip was wonderfully planned and everything worked out great. The [inn] was fantastic...We personally like our interactions with the smaller wineries the most. We LOVED speaking with the 92 year old owner at one winery and drinking wine with him. We also thought the pairings with the food at another winery were delicious, and enjoyed meeting you! Thanks again, and we really do look forward to meeting you again on a tour.
